It's Winter Out There

But inside it's a tropical resort.

Um, you're not going to try to come out here, are you? I don't think there's room for your........mass.

Nope, Monday morning if for working. Only the PETS get to relax in the sun. Sigh.

My home office (and for that matter, my work office) both have south facing windows. This morning, while at home, working, I had to find a hat to shade my eyes to see the computer. Good problem to have!

At Nistock Farms we're Knee Deep in Sheep

I'm frequently reminded by my dear husband that when we got married in 1990 and I brought my little flock of fiber sheep to the family farm, they were supposed to be "just for me, you know, to spin with and be pets". Over the years circumstances changed, as circumstances do, and the flock has evolved to nearly 100 ewes and rams (not counting lambs), and taken over the big dairy barn. We work hard for them and they work hard for us. We have a widely varied handspinning flock including white, black and moorit crossbreds of Border Leicester, Romney, Finn, Rambouillet and CVM, and our wonderful purebred heritage breed, Cotswolds. We raise our own corn and oats, bale the hay and straw, cut mountains of firewood for the house and workshops, can and preserve, stretch fence, dig ditches, pour concrete, build stuff, plant crops, do plumbing, wiring, welding, and anything else that needs doing. We're born and bred Farmers. You never know what the heck is gonna happen......
