You Know It's Spring When.....

....the grass has finally grown enough to withstand a flock of sheep who are tired. of. hay.

We'll ease them into grazing season by limiting their intake until their systems adjust.  For the first day we allow less than half an hour but every minute is full of sheepy happiness.

Being let out to pasture - the ultimate spring milestone!

    1. You didn't count them? ;-)
We have 140 right now but that includes rams and a pen of geriatrics who weren't in this video. This is just the main flock.

  4. Now where is the video of you trying to get them back in after only 1/2 hour!! They run so fast since they've been sheared.

    1. Honestly, they are pretty obedient. We just walk out behind them and say 'time to go in' and they head for the barn. There was some foot dragging but nobody was naughty.
